Overview
FoodCorp's frozen giant squid product line transforms wild-caught Dosidicus gigas into export-ready cuts at our Coronel plant. Rather than shipping whole round only, we process squid into fillets, tentacles, wings, rings and tentacle cut — each blast-frozen or IQF and packed for direct use in foodservice, retail and further processing.
Size grading follows whole-weight categories: 0–2 kg, 2–4 kg and 4 kg and above, ensuring buyers receive consistent product for their programmes. Tubes and fillets are cleaned, graded and frozen individually (IQF) or in blocks, depending on market requirements. Tentacle, wing and ring cuts are popular in Asian import markets where giant squid is a menu staple.
With BRC and HACCP systems, traceability from FAO Area 87 and a long tradition in Chilean cephalopod processing, FoodCorp is a reliable partner for repeat giant squid programmes. All cuts are packed in carton 20 kg net or IQF bags to buyer specification, with blast tunnel and IQF freezing available depending on the cut and market.
