Resource sustainability from the South Pacific

FoodCorp has been particularly concerned with the sustainability of resources — actively supporting research activities and environmental improvements, working in close relationship with all stakeholders.

Our philosophy

Quality for the World means fishing responsibly

As one of the most important players in the fishing industry in the centre-south of Chile, FoodCorp understands that long-term business success depends on healthy pelagic stocks in the South Pacific. That is why sustainability is not a marketing label here — it is embedded in how we work with researchers, regulators and the wider industry.

All FoodCorp resources are captured from the rich and pure waters of the South Pacific Ocean under Chilean fishing regulations. Our own fleet and selected fishermen suppliers operate within the legal framework that governs pelagic capture, processing and export.

How it works

Sustainability in practice

Four pillars keep our seafood both responsible and high quality — from the water to the export container.

01

Research & environment

FoodCorp actively supports research activities and environmental improvements related to pelagic resource sustainability — working with stakeholders across the Chilean fishing industry.

02

Regulatory compliance

Operations follow Chilean fishing regulations governing pelagic capture quotas, processing standards and export documentation for wild-caught species from FAO Area 87.

03

Integrated traceability

From our own fleet and supplier vessels through the Coronel plant to the finished carton or jumbo bag — a short, controlled chain with species identification and lot traceability.

04

Stakeholder engagement

Working in close relationship with all stakeholders — from fishermen and port authorities to export customers and research institutions — to ensure quality marine products for the world.

Responsible sourcing is better product

The same discipline that supports resource sustainability supports product quality. Wild pelagic landed by an experienced fleet, processed within hours at a state-of-the-art Coronel plant and blast-frozen or steam-dried to specification — that is the chain behind every carton and jumbo bag FoodCorp exports.

For buyers, it means seafood and feed ingredients you can document: FAO area codes, species names, BRC and HACCP certificates, and a supplier who has been in the Chilean fishing industry for generations.
