Chilean jack mackerel (Trachurus murphyi) — whole round pelagic fish

Overview

Chilean jack mackerel (Trachurus murphyi) is one of the cornerstone pelagic species in FoodCorp's portfolio. Caught in the rich waters of the South Pacific Ocean (FAO Area 87), this oily pelagic is prized for its firm flesh, high oil content and versatility across frozen food markets, canning lines and reduction into fishmeal and fish oil.

FoodCorp captures jack mackerel through its own efficiently equipped fleet and selected fishermen suppliers, landing fish suited to the most demanding production processes. At our state-of-the-art Coronel plant, whole round fish are graded, blast-frozen and packed for export — with optional headed-and-gutted (H&G) processing and fillet lines available to buyer specification.

For importers in Asia, Africa and Latin America, Chilean jack mackerel offers a dependable source of wild pelagic protein at competitive landed cost from a processor with a long tradition in the Chilean fishing industry.
