Overview
FoodCorp's frozen mackerel line covers the full range of export formats that international buyers require — from whole round fish for reprocessing to headed-and-gutted (H&G), headless-gutted-tail-off (HGT) and fillet portions for retail and foodservice.
Fish are caught by FoodCorp's own fleet and selected suppliers in the South Pacific, landed at Coronel and processed through the state-of-the-art freezing facility. Size grading runs from 200–300 g through 300–500 g, 500–700 g, 700–900 g and 900 g and above, allowing buyers to match product to their market requirements precisely. All product is handled under BRC and HACCP controls with export documentation prepared for destination-market customs.
Whole round and H&G mackerel are blast-frozen through tunnel freezers and packed in standard 20 kg net cartons. Fillets are available IQF for foodservice and retail programmes. Block-frozen formats are also offered for industrial buyers who reprocess at destination.
