Overview
FoodCorp's canned mackerel line packs wild-caught pelagic mackerel into shelf-stable formats for retail and foodservice markets. Two standard can sizes are offered: RO-200 with 170 g net weight — a compact format popular in many import markets — and Tall 425 g for value-oriented and foodservice applications.
Raw material comes from FoodCorp's own capture operations — jack mackerel (Trachurus murphyi) and chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) — processed at the Coronel plant under HACCP and BRC controls. Fish are cleaned, processed, filled and retorted to commercial sterility, then labelled and packed for export in cases suitable for container shipment, with health certificates prepared for customs clearance in destination markets.
Canned mackerel is a cost-effective protein source with long shelf life and no cold-chain requirement at destination — making it ideal for markets where refrigerated infrastructure is limited. Both RO-200 (170 g net) and Tall 425 g formats are retorted to commercial sterility under HACCP controls, with brine and oil pack mediums available. FoodCorp welcomes programme enquiries from importers and private-label buyers.
